For folks who are interested in quick, basic instructions, here’s how you can post flyers on eFlyer. If you’d like more detailed instructions, check out the links to the right under the More section.

Registering for and Logging into eFlyer

In order to post flyers, you need to register. When you click on the Register tab at the top of the page, just provide your NetID and an email address (we use that to let you know your flyer has been approved and for administrative messages). Your password is the same as the password you use to get into WebMail or DukePass. Once you’ve registered, you can login using the Login tab at the top of the page.

Submitting Flyers

After you login, you’ve be back at the eFlyer home page. Click on the SITE ADMIN tab at the top of the screen to take you to the eFlyer dashboard. To create a new flyer, click on the Write button near the top of the page. You’ll need to provide, a title, begin date, end date, and description for your flyer as well as select the categories in which it should be listed. Most of the categories are fairly self explanitory. There is a group of categories called Post Type with choices of Image Only, Image and Text, and Text Only. You need to select one of these (see below for more on that) so that the flyer is properly displayed.

You can submit a flyer that is just an image, an image and some text, or text only. Images for flyers must be JPG or GIF only (using RGB colors, not CMYK).

  • For image only flyers, we recommend an 800 pixel by 600 pixel image.
  • For flyers with an image and text, the image should be 400 pixels by 600 pixels. Please keep the text to no more than 30 or so words.
  • For flyers that are text only, please keep the text to no more than 30 or so words.

To submit an image, use the upload widget near the middle of the page. You should browse on your computer for the image and upload it. Once it has been uploaded, click on the thumbnail and click again on Send to Editor. That will put it in the editor window so you can add some text to it.

Approving Flyers

Once you have submitted a flyer, it is held by approval. The staff at the Information Desk (which is part of the Office of Student Activities and Facilities) is responsible for approving flyers. Once your flyer is approved, you will get an email notifying you. To check the status of a flyer you have submitted, click on the Post Moderation link in the eFlyer dashboard.
